The JBJ Soul Foundation is commited to breaking the cycle of hunger, poverty and homelessness. We are proud of what we achieved in 2019 in support of our mission. Volunteer Appreciation Party
Celebrated our amazing JBJ Soul Kitchen volunteers at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party.
Rutgers University-Newark Community Engagement Day
Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi supporting over 300 student volunteers at Rutgers University-Newark’s 10th Biannual Community Engagement Day. Volunteers came out to clean up the area behind JBJ Soul Homes.
Summer Soul BBQ Series
Celebrated “Dog Days of Summer” as part of our Summer Soul BBQ Series, featuring delicious, all-you-can-eat BBQ at our Red Bank and Toms River locations.
Mulligan’s For Meals Golf Outing
Held our 3rd Annual Mulligans for Meals Golf Outing at the Colts Neck Country Club in NJ.
Day of Hope Walk
Gathered with local partners and service providers for the 3rd Day of Hope Walk to shine a light on the good work being done in the Red Bank community.
Friends & Family Community Fair
Held our Friends & Family Community Fair in Toms River to educate the community on the many services and resources available in the surrounding area.
Veteran's Day Brunch
Hosted brunch to honor the men and women who have given selfless service to our country.
Chili Cook-Off
Hosted our 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off in Toms River to honor and thank first responders.
Open Mic Nights
Launched Open Mic nights at our Toms River location serving up delicious food, family fun, and live music from local talent and young singers from Zzak G. Applaud Our Kids Foundation, INC.
Every Bowl Feeds A Soul Events
Held Every Bowl Feeds a Soul events throughout the year to raise hunger awareness in our communities. Dedicated volunteers, students and staff from local schools along with businesses and individuals from the local community, created hand-crafted ceramic bowls while partaking in an education program about food insecurity.
Guest Host Nights
Held Guest Host Nights throughout the year at our Toms River location. Hosts included: Actor Gaten Matarazzo of Stranger Things, Lou & Liz in the Morning from 94.3 The Point, Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Father Scott Shaffer from St. Joseph’s Church in Toms River, and Berkley Township’s Mayor Carmen Amato.
Pantry Appreciation Dinner
Gathered over 100 food pantry volunteers to thank them for all they do to help our neighbors who don’t always have access to healthy food and brainstorming gaps in service and how we can work together to better serve the community.

JBJ Soul Kitchen was named one of Edible Jersey’s 2019 Local Heroes! The restaurant was honored for our efforts and dedication to delivering a quality food experience, while also supporting New Jersey’s farmers, environmental initiatives and local community needs. READ ARTICLE
DOROTHEA HONORED AT DRUMTHWACKET
Dorothea was honored with the Drumthwacket Prize in recognition of her efforts to improve the quality of life for the people and communities in New Jersey.

NEW RED BANK VESTIBULE
Built new vestibule at our Red Bank location so guests can stay warm as they wait to eat a delicious meal. Special thanks to our donors and to New Jersey Natural Gas.
